SpaONSEN

The Plaza Group offers multiple natural onsens, allowing
guests to enjoy a variety of hot spring experiences.

An onsen, or hot spring, is a natural bath filled with geothermally heated groundwater that emerges from the Earth's crust.

In Japan, onsens are not just a place for bathing; they hold a significant place in Japanese culture.

They are known for their therapeutic properties and are often located in scenic areas such as mountains or forests, offering a relaxing experience in nature.

Many onsens contain minerals which are believed to have health benefits, such as improving circulation and skin health.

They are a fundamental part of Japanese wellness practices and are often associated with traditional Japanese inns, known as ryokans, where visitors can stay and enjoy the hot springs along with traditional Japanese hospitality and cuisine.

The onsens of the Plaza Group are conveniently located near the train station, allowing for easy enjoyment of these hot springs.

Beitou Stones, a unique type of radioactive mineral from the Beitou region of Taiwan, known for its therapeutic properties

Approximately 1,200 years ago, the great eruption of Mount Yake in Hachimantai, Akita Prefecture, gave birth to Tamagawa Onsen at an altitude of around 700 meters. From the main spring source, 'Oobuke No.1,' water at an astonishing 98 degrees Celsius gushes out at a rate of 9,000 liters per minute with a pH of 1.1 to 1.2, making it an exceptionally acidic hot spring.

This unique spring, directly fed by magma steam and acidic gases, is unlike any other, boasting unparalleled properties. Near the Oobuke spring, you can find Beitou stones, containing radioactive radium, emitting radiation levels 1,000 to 10,000 times higher than ordinary stones and recognized as a Special Natural Monument.

Tamagawa Onsen's hot stone bath has been known for its health and medicinal benefits since ancient times. This rare and extraordinary hot spring is said to be effective for a wide range of ailments including skin diseases, rheumatism, arteriosclerosis, digestive disorders, childhood paralysis, post-stroke complications, and even cancer, diabetes, and Behçet's disease. It attracts people from all over Japan and the world for therapeutic bathing.

The most effective method is to lie on the stones near the Oobuke spring while inhaling the steam, which includes radium vapors released from Beitou stones, warming the body in a relaxed posture. Recent academic research has unveiled that the natural radiation from radium and thorium in the Beitou stones of the hot stone bath creates a hormesis effect, thought to be miraculous. Our facility uses Tamagawa Onsen Beitou stones and has been developed with new patented technology to replicate the hot stone bath of Tamagawa Onsen, delivering similar benefits to our guests.
